Which Troon North Course Is Open This Month, and Who Else Is Booking It

Troon North's October will be easier to plan with the club's own calendar than with the regional list. Two things changed this fall. The overseed order runs the opposite way from the schedule many golfers check first. A new lodging property next to the club is also opening with a tee-time booking window that is four times longer than what the public gets. Both affect when you can play Monument and Pinnacle, and both will matter long after the rye grass comes in.

Today is October 4, and as of this morning nothing at the club is open.

The club's own dates

Troon North Golf Club posts its overseed schedule on its course information page. Here is what it says for 2026:

Area Closed for overseeding
Pinnacle Course September 20 to October 8
Monument Course October 4 to October 24
All facilities October 4 to October 8
Practice range and upper putting green September 13 to October 8

So this week is the one stretch when the entire property goes quiet at once. After October 8, Pinnacle and the practice area are off the overseed calendar. Monument stays closed until October 24 is behind you. If you play, the next three weeks run on one course.

The range has its own rule even when it's open. Troon North says the practice facility is only for players with a tee time that day and that it sells no range passes. Posted range hours are 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and 5:30 a.m. to noon on Monday.

Why the list you may have seen reads backward

The Arizona Golf Association keeps a statewide 2026 overseeding table that a lot of Valley golfers use as a quick reference. Its Troon North row shows Monument closing September 21 and reopening October 9, and Pinnacle closing October 5 and reopening October 24.

Those two windows are close to the club's own dates, but the course names are swapped. Someone who trusts the statewide table would expect Monument back this coming weekend and Pinnacle out until late October. The club's page says the reverse. The AGA page shows no publication date, and Troon North's course page was last updated in July 2026. When the two disagree, the club's page is the one to plan around, and a call to the golf shop before you book will settle any doubt.

The new building by the first tee

The schedule mix-up is a one-month problem. The second change at the club is permanent.

Scottsdale Golf Retreat at Troon North is a stay-and-play property built next to the club. Its website says it is taking reservations for a grand opening "starting October 2026." HCW Hospitality announced on June 15, 2026 that it will manage operations, sales, marketing, revenue management and guest services, with an opening window of fall 2026. MBA Development Partners is the developer. When Troon first announced the property in October 2025, it projected an early 2026 opening. As of today, no source gives a specific opening day.

The detail that matters most to anyone who plays here sits in the retreat's description of guest perks:

"360-day advanced booking access on Monument and Pinnacle, fully managed by our team."

Troon North's public booking page lets you reserve up to 90 days ahead. The page also says prices adjust dynamically in real time and that a 5% water surcharge is added at check-in. HCW's June release describes guest access as 365-day "preferred" tee times, so the two sources differ by a few days. Either way, retreat guests can look about a year out, while everyone else can look about a quarter out.

No published source says how many tee times will go to retreat guests or what share of the tee sheet that would be. The developer's 2022 narrative to the City of Scottsdale said only that "a portion" of tee times would be taken by resort guests. It also predicted fewer vehicle trips to the clubhouse and more open clubhouse parking as a result. Until the operator publishes an allocation, nobody can say how much the longer window will change availability for public golfers.

The approval history is a matter of public record. Scottsdale's Development Review Board approved what was then called the Troon Golf Villas, 31 units at 10200 E. Dynamite Boulevard, by a 4 to 1 vote on October 20, 2022. The Troon North Association board told the city it had no objection as long as the project followed staff recommendations and stipulations.

The room count depends on the source. HCW's release lists 31 accommodations. The retreat's website describes eight two-story buildings with four suites each, plus 12 single-room casitas.

The retreat's first package shows who it is aimed at. The Fall Grand Opening package starts at $1,849 per person for a group of four in a four-bedroom villa. That covers a Sunday through Wednesday stay of three nights and two Troon North rounds, valid October through December 2026. The price assumes booking at least 90 days ahead. The package also includes daily breakfast at the club's grille and a same-day replay round when space allows. That last perk only works if the tee sheet has room, so the package depends on the same calendar as everyone else.

October around the reopening, in order

Because the club is being overseeded and the retreat is opening at the same time, most of the month's useful dates fall on or near the club grounds.

  1. October 4 to 8. All Troon North facilities are closed.
  2. After October 8. Pinnacle comes off its overseed window, and so do the range and upper putting green.
  3. Saturday, October 10, 2 to 4 p.m. The Dynamite Grille hosts a "Stock Your Wine Cellar" tasting with complimentary charcuterie and local vendors.
  4. Saturdays starting in October. Women's clinics run from 10 to 11 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to noon, at $40 per person per session.
  5. Saturday, October 24, 9 a.m. Eek! At the Peak! at Pinnacle Peak Park, off North 102nd Way, offers educational activities, costume contests, treats and a Junior Ranger program. The city calendar says registration through ActiveNet is required.
  6. After October 24. Monument's overseed window ends.

The Dynamite Grille is the most practical part of the club for anyone who doesn't play. It overlooks the 18th hole of the Pinnacle course and lists public dine-in hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended at 480-585-5300, ext. 219. The grille's page doesn't mention an overseed exception, so assume it's closed along with everything else through October 8. With Pinnacle green again after that, the patio overlooks a freshly overseeded finishing hole.

When the club is dark, Pinnacle Peak Road has two new tables

While the club is closed this week, the nearest new dinner options are down Pinnacle Peak Road.

Il Segreto opened August 12 in the former Arrivederci Pinnacle Peak space. Forking Scottsdale reported that it is owned by Jameson Neuhoff of Segreto Restaurant Group LLC and that its preview guests kept mentioning the chocolate tart. The restaurant's own website lists the address as 8900 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Suite D1, with hours of Tuesday through Saturday, 4 to 9 p.m. One early report gave a Scottsdale Road address, so go by the restaurant's site.

Baan Thai opened in September at the southeast corner of Miller and Pinnacle Peak. Mouth by Southwest highlighted the menu's less familiar dishes. Those include crispy pork shoulder with jaew dipping sauce for $16, a whole golden-fried pompano with tamarind or ginger sauce for $25, and Pad Kee Mao Spaghetti Talay, a Thai-Italian dish, also $25. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Leave extra time if your route crosses Scottsdale Road. A July 24 project bulletin for the Scottsdale Road work between Jomax Road and Dixileta Drive said Dynamite Boulevard would be closed on the east side of Scottsdale Road through late December for drainage work. Detour signs would route drivers around the closure. That date was a projection made in July, so check the city's current traffic updates before you count on it.

The calendar to keep

For the rest of this month, Troon North's course page has the dates that matter. From here on, the tee sheet has a new neighbor that books on a much longer horizon than the public's 90 days. As of today, neither the retreat nor the club has published how much of the tee sheet guests will use. Until one of them does, booking toward the far end of your 90-day window is the one thing you control.

A home that backs onto Monument or Pinnacle comes with the club's calendar, its views and now a new resort next door.
